We believe that God calls us to be fed through worship and education and then to feed others by serving. At White Lick we hope that everyone will find a way to serve through outreach or in-reach. Outreach is the ways we go out into our community and the world and seek to serve the least and lost of our world, sharing the love of Christ with all that we meet. In-reach is the ways we serve our congregation and help lift and maintain the people and place where we are called into worship together. Speak with the pastor about ways you might get involved as a servant of Christ through our church.
Good News Ministry: Volunteers of our congregation serve lunch once a month to the homeless men at the Good News Ministry Shelter. This time of sharing food and listening to the stories of the men is one way we share the love of Christ in our community. Through this ministry we not only help those we serve, but find our own faith expanded in the process.
Indy Love Train: Monthly volunteers go to the heart of Indianapolis with a mission to reach out to the homeless population who live on the streets of the city. Through donations of food, clothing, and basic toiletries, this outreach seeks to meet homeless people where they are. We meet the 3rd Saturday of each month at Unity of Indianapolis. Setup begins at 9:30AM and we serve guests between 11-1.
Sheltering Wings: As partners with this Hendricks County domestic abuse shelter, our congregations seeks to provide an emergency shelter for women and children who are abusive relationships. Through donations and serving on the church relations board, members of White Lick help continue this vital service to our county.
Cornerstone Food Pantry: On the second Sunday of each month, congregants share non-perishable food items that then are distributed through the food pantry at the Cornerstone Christian Church.
PAL: Two members of our congregation started the first chapter of PAL (Parents of Addicted Loved Ones) as a passion to reach the growing number of families struggling with loved ones who suffer from the disease of addiction. This support group meets each Thursday evening at 6:30-8PM. In the midst of the fear and feeling of hopelessness, PAL reminds you that you are not alone.
Get Real Youth Group: This community youth group is run by a member family of White Lick and supported by the congregation. Get Real seeks to give high school youth a safe and fun place to talk about real issues facing teens and discuss how faith plays a role in teen lives.
Sunday Lunch: Each Sunday (except Holiday Weekends) White Lick hosts lunch after the 10:30 worship service. The first Sunday of the month is a pitch-in Sunday and then different team of the church help prepare and serve on the other Sundays.
Ministry Teams: White Lick depends heavily on the ministry teams of the congregation. These teams include Buildings and Grounds, Christian Education, Hospitality, Worship, Finance, Personnel, Missions, and Outreach. The servant leaders of each team volunteer their time and energy to continue the vital work of White Lick Presbyterian and help fulfill its mission to prepare and send spirit-filled disciples of Christ into the world.
