Children's Christian Education

NURSERY 10:30 am worship service

The nursery is near the sanctuary and ready for parents with young children who are not quite old enough for Sunday School but need a place to be during worship. With a private bathroom with changing table, age appropriate toys, and rocking chair we know you will be comfortable having your young children stay. Children of all ages are always welcome to stay in worship with their parents.

This hands on class helps open up the stories of the Bible to our young children. Together the children learn through storytelling, crafts, and games about God's amazing love. Children begin 10:30 worship in the sanctuary and then depart after the Children's Sermon. Parents can pick up their kids in the first classroom on the left in Fellowship Hall.

This pre-teen class focuses on encountering the Bible through dialogue and experience. Children work together to grow in their faith and strengthen their knowledge of the Bible. Kids begin 10:30 worship in the sanctuary and then depart after the Children's Sermon. Parents can pick up their kids in the last room on the right in Fellowship Hall.

Our teenagers focus on taking scripture and applying it to real life. Through meaningful discussion and creative interaction, this class helps bring faith alive for our teens. Our teens stay in 10:30 worship until after the Children's Sermon. Their classroom is the last room on the left of Fellowship Hall.

Ever few years we conduct a special class for youth who are preparing to become full members of the congregation. Confirmation is a dedicated time, typically in the late winter and early spring, that examines what it means to be a member of a church. We examine history, doctrines, confessions and creeds, prayer, and polity. It is our hope that at the end of this class our youth will be prepared to claim their own faith in Jesus Christ and join Christ's church in full ministry. Confirmation is being planned for the winter of 2017. If you have a middle school or high school age youth in your family that would enjoy strengthening their faith and joining the church, contact Pastor Daren.

Each summer our youth have the opportunity to travel to Montreat North Carolina to join with around 1200 other Presbyterian youth in worship, small groups, and fellowship. This one week conference is highlighted by wonderful keynote messages, strong and even challenging preaching, dynamic worship, and engaging small groups. The week is open to rising High School freshman through just graduated Seniors.
